Adsense is Google's system for creating contextual text (and possibly image) ads based on the content on your website.
The ads are generated by sixteen simple lines of Javascript which include information regarding the ad type, size, colors, and of course, your Adsense account number.
Ads can be designed to fit a variety of sizes and shapes including but not limited to:
- leaderboard (728x90 pixels)
- banner (468x60 pixels)
- skyscraper (120x600 pixels)
- medium rectangle (300x250 pixels)
- wide skyscraper (160x600 pixels)
