Apple iPhone Announced

On January 9, Apple revealed the iPhone to the world for what will undoubtedly set the standard for next-generation mobile phone products. Setting the bar as only Steve Jobs can in an keynote, he held the crowd in awe as he put the phone through its paces.

iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers.

Wii Play: Review by IGN

Wii Play, slated for release in North America early next year, is reviewed by IGN. Calling a "training package for the Wiimote", they say;

Like Wii Sports, the pack-in sports game compilation, Wii Play aims to demonstrate the range of functions the Wii is capable of, while teaching-through-playing, rather than reading a manual. Included are 9 games that immediately struck us as somewhat familiar. Several of these titles, in more basic forms, were how Nintendo originally introduced the press to the motion-controlled concepts behind Wii. Only makes sense that Nintendo included a couple of these, nicely reworked, in Wii Play.

Since it's being packaged just $10 over the retail cost of the regular Wiimote, it's sure to be a no-brainer as an addition to the immensely fun Wii Sports.

Transformers Cybertron: Optimus Prime and Saber Wing

Transformer - Optimus PrimeWith all the excitement around the upcoming Transformers movie, there's a great crop of new "old generation" Transformers toys on the market; I was at Costco today and came across a whole pile of Optimus Prime and Saber Wing sets. If I had a place to put these on my overflowing desk, I'd be getting a set of these in a heartbeat!
