I recently purchased a brand new Apple MacBook and love just about everything about it. Since this is my first time to have hands-on experience with Front Row, I quickly tracked down the necessary Xvid codecs to enable playback of .avi/Xvid file in Front Row.

Simply download the Intel Binary of XviD/Avi Import Components file, drop the Xvid Codec and AviImporter file into ~/Library/Quicktime (or root Library folder for all user access), and playback of these files is available through Quicktime and Front Row immediately.
